The second of hearing the trial of Executive Council Members, 2016-2018, period was held before the 32 Assize Court in Ankara. The hearing commenced at 09.00 on 20 March 2019, Wednesday. The Executive Council members appeared at the court for issuing a statement “War is a Threat to Public Health.” The panel of judges decided to hold the next hearing at 09.15 on 3 May 2019, Friday. The trial adjourned until 3 May since TTB lawyers submitted a motion to the Chief Public Prosecutor that indicates the public prosecutor acted in a contrary manner to the law and mandate. The motion also requests that the public prosecutor must be withdrawn from the case. The court decided to wait the result of the petition. Dr. Otmar Kloiber, the General Secretary of the WMA, and the former head of the CPME Dr. Jacques de Haller attended the second hearing. In addition, there were dozens of TMA branches, trade union representatives, physicians, and MPs in the court room.
