The trial of 69 individuals detained and allegedly subjected to torture for participating in the Pride March held on May 20, 2022, on the campus of Boğaziçi University is nearing its conclusion.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has prioritized the examination of a second application by Osman Kavala, who has been detained since October 18, 2017, marking 2,352 days in prison. 

The application, submitted on January 18, 2024, was communicated to Turkey by the ECtHR on March 21, 2024, with a request for Turkey to present its defense by July 16, 2024

Turkish police on March 26 began questioning sociologist Prof. Nükhet Sirman, three days after the academic was detained from her residence in Istanbul.

In the Gezi trial, Ali Hakan Altınay, Yiğit Ali Ekmekçi, and Mücella Yapıcı were retried after the Court of Cassation overturned their 18-year sentences. The trial, held at the İstanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court, saw all three defendants absent, but their lawyers were present.
