Twenty-six NGOs have thrown their support behind the Ankara branch of the Chamber of Architects after its executives were charged with “terrorism propaganda” for giving a press award to a Jin TV journalist.

Some 26 NGOs, including rights and journalism groups, have slammed a new lawsuit brought against executives of the Ankara branch of the Chamber of Architects over accusations of “making terrorism propaganda.”

Put on trial over their 700th gathering at İstanbul's Galatasaray Square, Saturday Mothers/People had their fourth hearing at the İstanbul 21st Criminal Court of First Instance yesterday (March 23).

According to lawyers for defendant Yiğit Aksakoğlu in the Gezi Park trial, prosecutors are withholding from the defense an audio recording that would exonerate him.

In the Gezi trial, the prosecutor has pronounced the final opinion as to the accusations between the hearings.

At the previous hearing at the İstanbul 13th High Criminal Court, the court board ruled that the file should be sent to the prosecutor's office so that the opinion as to the accusations would be prepared.

Turkish police have filed a criminal complaint against Turkish Medical Association (TTB) chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı for appearing on a YouTube program hosted by a journalist accused by Ankara of being a member of the Gülen network, referred to as the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) by the Turkish government.

A Turkish court said on Monday philanthropist Osman Kavala must stay in prison, lengthening his detention of more than four years without conviction, in a trial which has fuelled tensions in Ankara's relations with Western allies.

A Turkish court has acquitted Diyarbakır Bar Association President Nahit Eren, former president Ahmet Özmen and nine former executive board members in a case concerning their statements in 2017 and 2018, according to reporting by daily Evrensel.

The Health and Social Service Workers' Union (SES) has released a statement about the arrest of its former co-chair Gönül Erden.

Arrested in September, Erden hasn't been indicted yet. There is also a confidentiality order on the investigation against her.

The prison administration has imposed a "visitation ban," rejecting every petition to visit Erden without citing a reason, said Selma Atabay, the co-chair of the union.
